Trying to think of ideas for drinks to serve at your party and want something different? Lemonade is a great way to serve a refreshing drink to guests and it has a lovely old school vintage charm. There are a number of store bought options available or you can simply make it yourself. There is the traditional lemonade option but you can also make pink lemonade and it looks fantastic in a jug with a few blocks of ice and some slices of freshly cut lemon.
1 cup x Sugar
1 cup x Water
2 cups x Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
Either buy or squeeze fresh lemon juice.
Make a simple sugar syrup – this entails combining equal parts of water and sugar and stirring it over heat until the sugar is dissolved (CHEAT TIP: use castor sugar instead with cold water if you want to cut out having to heat it up). 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar should be more than enough.
Cool down the sugar syrup and combine it with the freshly squeezed lemon juice (when combine it combine to taste – depending on how sweet you want your lemonade will depend on how much sugar syrup you add).
Add ice and use a sprig mint to garnish your jug and you are ready to serve.
If you want to make pink lemonade, there are a number of options available to you.
Depending on what flavours you enjoy, you can either add cranberry juice, pomegranates seeds, juice or both, raspberry coulis or crushed strawberries to taste!
