Naturally infused flavoured water is a great way to save on costs, be healthy and at the same time still impress guests. Not only do these pitchers of flavoured water look fantastic on any party table, but they are a great talking point and are really refreshing on a hot summers day. The sky is the limit with flavour combinations and it really comes down to your personal taste but below are some of our favourites!
It only takes a second to turn a plain jug of water into something much more exciting.
Put a few handfuls of your chosen fruit and/or herb into a jug and muddle together. To muddle means to press the ingredients against the side of the glass with a muddler (or a wooden spoon or other hard object). Muddling helps to release the flavours of the fresh ingredients but be careful not to be to overzealous with delicate herbs such as mint and basil as this can impart a bitter taste in the drink.
Add water to the muddled ingredients and let it infuse for a couple of hours (if you have the time the night before is ideal) before serving. Just before you serve add some ice and you are ready to go.
