So many of you have told us how much you love our High Tea Collection (we are over the moon you love it!) and have asked us for ideas on how to help them with the planning of the perfect high tea.
To start off with you will need the basics - our high tea collection is beautiful and stylish and has the added bonus that you don’t have to worry about guests breaking your prized china or washing up dirty dishes afterwards. Pick a table for your soirée and throw on a table cloth - if you don't have one try going to a fabric shop which sells cheap spotted, floral or striped material by the metre. String up our high tea bunting and pom poms. To add that extra touch of whimsy why not try adding some flower arrangements in an old or new tea pot or tea cups which are sure to impress any guest!
Don’t forget arrival drinks for your guests which can range from a variety of teas (don’t forget the milk and sugar) or on those hot summer days, iced tea or fresh lemonade is a great idea for a refreshing drink. Adding flowers or fruit to ice cubes is a fun way to add that special touch to a pitcher of lemonade, a glass of bubbly or even your ice bucket!
When it comes to the spread there aren’t any rules except that it is delicious.
A traditional high tea would normally comprise some sandwiches, a selection of cakes and of course scones. Add a flair of fun to your sandwiches by using a variety of cookie cutter shapes. To save yourself time, we recommend preparing your fillings in advance and assembling them just before your party begins to avoid the dreaded soggy sandwich!
Scrumptious finger foods, biscuits and pastries are always a winner but is really comes down to you and how energetic you feel! Our cake box set is absolutely beautiful and is a must for those of you who love cake.
